Dr. Neil Kobrin, Ph.D. is the President/CEO of several professional psychology graduate schools and universities, a practicing clinical psychologist and professor of psychology and the author of Emotional Well-Being: Embracing the Gift of Life, which led him to introduce Mindful Psychology as a discipline and to create the Academy of Mindful Psychology.

As the president of the Academy of Mindful Psychology,  Dr. Kobrin is responsible for the overall functioning and operations of the Academy. This includes working closely with staff, the creation and development of all coursework and the selection of outstanding faculty. It also requires that he ensure that the Academy maintains an engaging online presence through its website and social media outlets, and through its Resource Center which provides relevant information.

The Academy of Mindful Psychology offers a variety of courses, workshops and trainings which are designed to transform one’s life. Many of the courses provide continuing education to healthcare professionals. These offerings are dedicated to the interdisciplinary aspects of Mindful Psychology, a holistic approach that combines essential elements of: Mindfulness, Psychology, Neuroscience, Health & Wellness, Consciousness & Spirituality. The Academy also sponsors continuing education conferences and workshops for healthcare professionals, and through its Resource Center, offers articles, videos and audios related to Mindful Psychology.

What has been the biggest challenge you have had in your business?

 
The biggest challenge I and the Academy have faced is bringing awareness to the market that it exists, and that it has been founded to provide education designed to transform lives both for the general public and health care professionals.

 

What have you implemented to overcome that challenge?

 
The Academy has taken a wide system approach to engage its market. Through its Resource Center a weekly email is distributed outlining the articles, videos and audios that have been posted on the site for the week. The Academy has created an affiliate marketing program designed to assist in the marketing of its offerings. The Academy is active on various social media platforms including Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest, posting on an ongoing basis. Free webinars and tele-seminars, covering topics related to Mindful Psychology and the Academy’s courses have been regularly scheduled. A dedicated YouTube channel, which host numerous videos of interest has been created. And I, as the voice and ‘face’ of the Academy, continue to give live public talks both locally and nationally.
