“You must make time to attend a few networking events to get further awareness of your business,” says Jason Brown, founder of Michigan public relations firm, PublicCity PR. He adds, “I’m a big believer that customers want to do more business with people that they know. So, get known.” One networking event is hosted by the Detroit Regional Chamber, is ‘Business Cards to Business Dollars.’ As a member of Detroit Regional Chamber, this event is the first of three half-day member events focused on providing tools for small and mid-sized businesses. It is a perfect networking opportunity for receiving some business building tips, and connecting with others within Michigan’s business community. Jason also adds, “Food is king! You want to be successful, know where to take clients and new business prospects for food. Some of my favorites include Rugby Grille in the Townsend Hotel, and Central Kitchen and Bar in downtown Detroit.”

Jenni Lewis, owner of Tax Team Services located in Redford, Mich. says, “competition is high.” She adds, “I’m competing with other companies in my industry on nearly every corner.”
